Enjoy. We found this old poem recently. Enjoy.
"Thought"
By Berton Braley
You repeat "I think" at least ten times per day. Or even fifteen or twenty times. It's true that you repeat this phrase a lot. Pause and think half a wink, then start your brain cells clinking. "I think", you say. But do you really think?
How many times do you create something out of your own thoughts and not just repeat a phrase you were taught? You sink into a reverie and blink like an owl. But are you really thinking, or only pretending to think?
You say "I think", and then spout some old, stale opinion that was probably known in Pharaoh’s reign. Do you ever let new ideas slink into your cranium? Do you think or only believe you are thinking?
You are filled with traditions and customs. Some of them may be good, but most have been long dead. They fester in your mind, and you suffer. Son, throw that clutter into the drink. Don't blink! Wake up! Then you might actually think about it!
