Podcast #1,015: Boots, Tents, Sleeping Bags, and More: How to Choose and Use Outdoor Gear

It takes a lot of gear to make a successful camping or backpacking trip. There are many options and the gear can be expensive.

Craig Caudill is an outdoorsman and author of Ultimate Wilderness Gear, which offers tips for selecting and using outdoor equipment. Craig Caudill and I will be discussing some tips to keep in mind when buying gear like tents, sleeping bag, boots and more. We also offer specific recommendations for the gear we have used. Craig offers advice on how to use outdoor gear, such as tips on drying wet boots and deciding whether to put a tent under it. He also discusses what to do when you are hot or cold and you're in your sleeping bag.
