In January we launched our Substack Newsletter, Dying Breed. The community has grown quickly. Many thanks to all who have already signed up! Kate and I are so grateful for your support.
Michael Easter, the author of The Comfort Crisis called Dying Breed, "the PhD of The Art of Manliness," and I thought that was a good analogy. AoM shares the same spirit as DB, but DB is where we publish more thoughtful writing. This is where we publish the more thoughtful writing we have been doing. While AoM is aimed primarily at men, DB includes both men and women.
Here's what Dying Breed subscribers are missing if you haven't yet checked it out:
All the archives of previously published Firesides are available exclusively on Dying Breed. The archives of Firesides published in the past are also available on Dying Breed. You can receive two high-quality pieces each week for $5/month, or $50/year. In addition, you will have access to our library of archived articles and a community of engaged, thoughtful readers. This is also a great way to directly support Kate and my work. If you are a fan or the AoM podcast or website, consider it a $50 gift that includes a newsletter.
Please note that AoM's articles and podcasts will remain free.
This is a list of everything we've posted on Dying Breed this year. Try the newsletter for 7 days free. You can explore the articles to decide whether you want to subscribe.
