You have relationships with your family, friends and romantic partner. You may not have realized it, but your relationship with your work is also quite serious. After all, you spend about a third your life at the office.
Your relationship with your work can be just as up and down as your relationship with a significant other. You may start off with a honeymoon feeling, but you could end up losing interest, drifting away from your job or not feeling appreciated. There may come a point when you wonder if your job and you should part ways.
Tessa West is a professor in psychology and author of Job Therapy: Find Work That Works For You. She can help you decide if it's time to break up with your current job. Tessa West interviewed thousands of people recently who changed jobs or had a career change and discovered that there were five types of job dissatisfaction. Tessa will share these five profiles of job dissatisfaction on today's show. She also explains how to determine when to change jobs, move to a different company or even switch careers.
